During FITUR 2019, UNWTO’s International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories (INSTO) welcomed its newest member: the Navarre Tourism Observatory. As first tourism observatory in Spain to join the INSTO Network, the Navarre Observatory is aiming to further strengthen its commitment for tourism monitoring at the local level, extending the already established mechanisms in the economic area to the monitoring of environmental and social impacts of tourism in the destination. With the systematically and periodically collected data and scientific evidence on tourism in all its dimensions of sustainability, the Observatory will support local stakeholders in their decision-making and policy formulation processes in order to strengthen sustainable development in Navarre. The Navarre Tourism Observatory is the 25th member of the INSTO Network.
