OTE is the research and market intelligence department of São Paulo Turismo (SPTuris, tourism and events municipal company).
It was created in 2005 and is a tool a tool to assist in the search for tourism data that will help in the decisions of its managers in order to provide favorable conditions for sustainable progress of the sector.

MISSION
The main objective of OTE is to analyze the tourism behavior and the events segment in São Paulo.

OTE’s STRUCTURE
Given its importance for the progress of the activities of the city’s Tourism Authority (SPTuris), OTE is integrated into its Communications and Research Office. Through this integrated approach, the Observatory is closely connected with the other departments within SPTuris as well as other departments of the city hall and the tourist market and events that are interested in accessing the data. OTE’s team consists of three staff members in total.
DID YOU KNOW…
Awarded by the Ministry of Tourism in 2010 and 2014 as one of the four best regional tourism development practices in the whole of Brazil, OTE became a reference in carrying out survey and statistical studies in the sector. Inspired the creation of Tourism Observatories in several Brazilian destinations, as Rio de Janeiro, Florianópolis, Ilhabela, Londrina, São Luís, among other destinations in the country that have already approached SPTuris to know better the structure of OTE, among them Mato Grosso, Distrito Federal, Paraná and Roraima.
